Report a translation problem
now that i think about it, i just respecced and maxxed out advanced engineering. I wonder if the reduced forge crafting materials has anything to do with this? i'm going to go do math, will report back
The recipe cost is hard coded and initialized at client launch by the engine, the % resource cost reduction is applied later via XML patch; The way it plays out in practice is that the Engine Requires you to have enough existing material to be able to craft a given item or quantity of items, and the XML patch then "refunds" a portion of the crafting cost.
Edit to add: Because the base recipe cost is hard coded the engine will check against that First and if that check fails it does not continue onto step 2, which is resource cost reduction. So it Must pass that first check (base material cost x intended number of crafts) in order to then have the cost reduction take place. So you cannot use 100% of your material in one single craft if you have a % cost reduction skill, EG, Advanced Engineering.
