sections of floor and ceiling falling.
I have been building a very large fortress using reinforced concrete. I know that it is not a support issue cause sections of it work and sections will not stick even just one space out from the wall. Also, I have been building this in a little village that I found. Random game type. Set it up with Survival Multiplayer. Mostly just me building it. Now here is another weird part. The building that I am building around has developed some unstickable floors/ceilings. I walk across a section that I have been walking over for a long time and suddenly it and maybe a few other squares just start falling thru. I was just walking across a section of my fortress and I fell thru one section and then all the sections in front of me and the parts behind me just started falling. The furthest any part of this was away from the supporting wall was 2 squares. From then on, once it falls from that section it will never hold another block. Could it be that there is a limit on the number of blocks allowed for buildings or something in a biome or neighborhood or something? Not sure what is going on, but it is a weird thing, and rather annoying when I am trying to build. I have seen videos of bigger constructions than mine, but never seen one in a town/village like that.
Anyway, just wanted to bring this to your attention in case you had not noticed this one yet. Thank you. Have a great day. :)
P.S. Going to try and rebuild in a biome without buildings in it.

You shouldn’t use reinforced concrete for ceiling and upper level floors it does not have the SI it’s only good for walls, support and protection. Use upgraded wooden frames or if they still fall use metal trussing. If they still fall you will need to make each floor two layers thick instead of one. Also make sure that you are not digging under any of your buildings it will make them unstable.

Has nothing to do with how many blocks or buildings are in a biome. You just need to figure out how the Structural Integrity (SI) System works

Ok... have tried wood frames in those areas also and it still falls to the ground. Two layers thick only works if the block below is able to stick... But when it decides to let go later then it crashes down also. I can walk across a section a hundred times and it is fine. Wood, stone, whatever and then suddenly it decides to let loose and fall. And that can even be against a wall. If it decides to get buggy and unstick then it unsticks and falls. This is happening to the default buildings in the area also. The ones that were generated in map by the game in the same town as my fort. The floors are randomly falling thru in areas. Not damaged at all, but suddenly just fall down as you walk across them.

Are you playing an old save game?

How many blocks high is the spots that are falling ? Also is there any mining or open spots under the building?
cny80132 12 ENE 2015 a las 6:33 a. m.
ok.. I am playing a new game with each patch that says that I need a new game.
Also, the walls with unsticky sides are anywhere from 2 to 12 blocks high. varying. Usually end up in large sections of unsticky areas though.
There is a mine shaft in the center of the area that goes straight down to the bottom where the floor changes to the bluish color spots and is undiggable. The shaft has wood blocks on all sides all the way down. Then the mining starts down there spreading out in one direction so far. But the unsticky is in all directions in the whole town. started with just one section as I was building then it spread to several buildings in the town and the one that I am building around in the town and my walls also of course

Ok you really didn’t answer my question. Was the map you are playing on started for 10.4? If it is not that might be your problem. If not then it is definitely your mining under your build, it’s a big No No. You should go to the official forums and read the post on how the SI works. It does not work like in real life it is calculated by what the block is connected to and how many empty blocks are below it.

Not really sure what version it was started in... but I know that it was started about 1.5 weeks ago. This is also the first time that we have tried going up instead of down with our construction, so we have never had this problem before.

Just putting a Mettle Trussing block in the spot that it is falling will not help you need to build it like this to really benefit from the added si
0=ground
1=Reinforced Concrete
2=Metal Trussing/Upgraded Wooden Frame Block

If you connect a block to the side of the Reinforced Concrete your starting value for the SI will come from the Reinforced Concrete. So you need to make sure your floor and ceiling connect to the side of something with a higher SI like Metal Trussing or Upgraded Wooden Frame.

Well, I filled in the mines way way under my base... Sure enough, everything is sticky again. hmmmm.... That is weird.

I had a simular issue with an in-game petrol station. There was a ladder made of wood on the back of the building that I was removing to stop the zombies climbing up as I was using the station as a base. When I removed the last peice of ladder the bit that goes round the top of the petrol station and the covered area over the petrol pumps came crashing down with a boom ( pumps exploded). Luck for me I was standing in the space where the ladder goes up so was not taken out. This is an issue in this game that needs fixed.

Oh wow! I would have liked to have seen that gas station go up. :)

It was quite funny took out a car and the gas pumps. Took me a while to fix the mess it left behind.
