Serious new issue - Port Forwarding appears to be broken *FIXED FOR ASUS RT-AC68u ROUTER USERS*
I can't get my server externally accessible. Internal IP works just fine but external refuses to connect.

Port Forwarding is setup TCP+UDP 25000-25003, 30000-30003.

Firewall side, the application has been setup for months and worked just fine. However, even turning off ALL firewall software, windows and third party, users cannot connect externally.

Is anyone else seeing this?

*FIXED* Running an ASUS RT-AC68u router, you must disable NAT Acceleration.

That's all it was. Game now connects fine.

Do you host on your own personal PC or something like a VPS? Have you installed the Telnet Client (Control Panel, Programs, Turn Windows features on or off)? Try removing Telnet Client, restart, then reinstall Telnet Client. I think port 8081 must also be accessible... Also, 32 or 64-bit?

Not running telnet. I host on a box sat next to me.

Server config is exactly the same details as previous versions of the game, albeit with the additional stuff added in by the dev.

8081 is just for the server log access, that has no bearing on the server client being accessible AFAIK but I'll try it.

Thanks for trying to help.
32bit and 64bit result in the same.
Definitely something seriously wrong here, putting the box into the router DMZ still results in no ability to connect.

That leaves local firewalls, which I've already disabled without success.
I've just put each of the TCP and UDP ports, individually, into port forwarding and that's made no difference either (just in case it was a range issue on the router software).
ISP port-blocking? *shrugs*
I guess its possible, I'll need to get onto them next.

Just set my box to a static IP different to the one I've used previously and its still not working.
ISP says they're not blocking anything around these port ranges.

Go there on the machine running the server. That shows you the IP address your friends need to use along with the port number you set in the config. Setting a static IP for you PC is only your internal IP address and shouldn't have any effect on the port forwarding... unless it's forwarding to the wrong PC on your LAN.
Thanks but I've now solved this.

Running an ASUS RT-AC68u router, you must disable NAT Acceleration.

That's all it was. Game now connects fine.

No idea how that setting got enabled.
Ah yes, ther's a line for that in the serverconfig.xml "<property name="DisableNAT" value="true"/>"
Yeah, I tried that but it made no difference. Also tried disabling NAT directly on the router, again no difference.

Probably down to a few variables amongst a lot, that needed to be set in the right order. Still, all sorted now.

Thanks again mate.
Disabling NAT Accel fixed problems for me too. Specifically Connecting failed. issue with Arma 3 dedicated server. Thanks.
PLEASE POST THIS SOMEWHERE ELSE! MORE PEOPLE NEED TO SEE THIS!
what all does it do when you turn NAT off like does it slow your internet or anything
