If you are playing single-player games, did you ever toggle off the "persistent profiles" option when starting the game?
Is your Windows login one with Administrator rights? If not it needs to be.
After verifying the game files, start the game and make a totally -new- profile, just use random until you get something you'll remember. Make sure it is selected after you exit the editor. Start a -new- save (don't load an old one), and then go to the character screen and see what they look like.
Old saves made with older game versions may not properly display the character. And Admin rights are needed for creating/modifying the game/profile saves.
You can always move your \My Documents\7Days To Die\ folder to somewhere like the Desktop (move, not copy), re-verify the files, and try again if you want. Not sure what else to suggest.
i made a hot black chick and upon next load of the save it was an ugly fat white guy. It only seems to happen when i use the character creation randomization function.
