7 Days to Die
Barbed Wire is too strong
If I build barbed wire fences 2 blocks tall, the horde runs up to it and just stands there. They won't even try to break it down. This makes the game rather dull. Seems like they should at least try to break through it.

Most people complain barbed wire is too weak. Your AI doesn't sound like it is doing what it would normally do. Are you playing on 9.3 with a 9.2/9.3 created savegame?
I have a fresh game of 9.3 and if you make one layer of barbed wire, they just jump it and kill you. If you make 2 layers, like a 6 foot tall fence, they just stand there and look at you.

Hmm. Might be some snafu in the recent AI. Wish I could get in-game and test, but I can't.
Yeah... Imo I'd have called you crazy if it wasn't for the fact you're so convinced otherwise,,

My barbed wire fence and wood spikes pretty much vaporize on anything that isn't player/me. I've wasted so much material because they'll lick it and hop up just before it goes "OH DEAR GOD RUN *explodes into bits*"
In similarity, I constructed hundreds of barbed wire fence, stacked two tall, sometimes three, butt up against concrete gas station blocks (random gen)- They were just disintegrating on anything, Bunnies, deer, zombies.....

So I built a single stack of wood spikes between some pumps and walked into it myself. did about half hp, So I thought, okay, they do damage, built a outline of those, Same situation, they expodercate when the zombies cross em.
With these, I had a test available upon completion, a roaming horde had just spawned, so I shot into the pack a few times only to have them trounce thru it fairly unphased.
this was probably last night. maybe the night before as of this post, Multiplayer, Many settings tweaked, mostly cause of things like this, where defenses just become obliterated, bad spawns, no good loot nearby, etc. (sorry I'm ranting off on a different tangent)
To boot. Block durability is actually supposed to be at 200%-> perhaps add tags to gameplay options stating what kinds of things certain options will affect postively, and what they will affect negatively.
for instance, I imagine block durability makes it both harder to break in, as well as break out, of a place.
and maybe damage given and damage received by non-player entities might be a culprit for why these things just vaporize, I dunno. Maybe I'll make a few tests with a brand new save for my current settings and zombies, and then compare with all the presets...
If you put the barbed Wire facing out with thw post on the inside...Two stacks high. And don't get close to the fence. The zombies just die on the fence.
Here is an excellent example of what Bacon Grease is describing: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/40854890328280032/A9619F18D56DFAF7F0A68F3AD84F5778661FDF66/

Notice that you got a dead Nude Walker and a dead Reanimated Corpse, while a Crawler is inbound to the fence.

Now you have three crawlers milling around at the bottom of the fence and another Reanimated Corpse that was previously undead, is now dead.

Now some time has passed, so much so, that two Bloated Walkers have had time to get near the fence into the screenshot. Keep in mind that this is Day 24 and the Zombies are Feral, obviously because they are all focused on me but I also got some grilled pork on my belt too, lol.

It is important to see how the fence posts and barbed wire are oriented. The barbed wire is on the outside block in front of the block containing the fence posts. There have been instances where not a single shot is fired is fired, and the entire horde is dead by rubbing their body against the barbed wire. Even dogs simply run up at full speed and seem stuck either facing you or switching from being on their sides against the fence, but do not dig at the barbed wire or fence posts like they would if a block of any other type is in front of them. Mostly the Crawler Zombies will be the only ones to break through at the bottom just by their hand-crawling animation doing damage to the fence.

Another thing to note, is that if you put something within two blocks behind the fence posts, say for example, sandbags, or yourself, the walkers will attempt to swipe at you and the ultimately destroy the fence indirectly. We can't be the only two experiencing this, right?
