Graphics Issue - Textures Flashing Badly
I do not normally like to post when I have issues as typically I can troubleshoot and correct most issues on my own. However, this one has me stumped. In game, my graphics (the texturing) flashes horribly bad, like strobe lights.

I have been playing the game for about 3 months now. When I first started playing, I seem to remember having this issue then as well. I believe (I may be remembering wrong) I had found a post that stated specific video settings for 7dtd in the nvidia control panel. I recently did a clean wipe of my pc and reinstalled windows, etc. Now, either I am remembering wrong, or this post has been removed. For the life of me, I cannot find it.

I tried playing with the settings on my own, I also updated to the latest nvidia drivers, rolled back through about 5 or 6 different driver releases, hoping the issue would be corrected. I cannot get this problem resolved, making the game unplayable atm. At this point I am frustrated and ready to chalk it up to a loss and move on to something else. Even the almighty google seems to have no correction for it. This is my final attempt to get this resolved.

My specs:
AMD FX 6100 CPU
Nvidia Geforce GFX 660ti Video Card
16 Gigs Ram
Windows 7 64bit

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know what you are talking about exactly. But if it is related to the torches try this link:

http://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?5505-Torch-flicker-remover-mod&highlight=flicker

also you can try turning off the High Quality lighting.

also trun off the AA and try messing with the imaging effects if you have not tired that

Flashing textures is usually related to SLI/Crossfire issues, and/or forcing AA. Since you don't have SLI going, try disabling any forced AA in the driver panel. Also revert to default in-game settings for all visual items.

Thank you Valyn, I had stumbled across this quite a few times in the last couple of days. I had also tried it at one point. Unfortunately this is not my issue, although it is a cool mod :)

Thanks Jaga, I have tried to shut off anything to do with antialiasing, as I know that does typically cause the flickering. I have tried disabling each AA function one at a time. This did not correct the issue either. In fact, when I disable all AA it gets much worse. Oddly enough, when I max all AA settings out is when it is at its least.

I very much appreciate the help, but I seem to be in quite the pickle here.

Do you have anti aliasing and image effect enabled at same time...if so remove image effects as like most games you cannot run anti aliasing and bloom at same time...warning is not there yet...hope this helps

I do not have both on at the same time, I have tried with them both off, and still have the problem. In fact, I have set all video settings in game and on the nvidia control panel to the absolute minimum settings... no dice. I am a big gamer, and have 30+ games... none have this issue except 7dtd.

did a clean install...i am pretty sure you have updated your video drivers and other drivers, did you install Microsoft .NET Frameworks http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26 or Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library 2008 and 2010 or all the other stuff you have to manually add after a clean install ??.

I do have the latest nvidia driver (I tried the absolute latest beta, but I run the latest stable). I have .net framwork (4.5.1). I don't see how an older version of that would make any difference with this issue. I also have the MS C++ runtimes x86 and x64 for 2005, 2008, & 2010 all installed. I also just recently uninstalled the game completly and reinstalled. Still a no go.

As always, I appreciate the help though :)

This problem is now resolved :) Please close the thread.

For those that might stumble upon this issue/thread, I have a gigabyte motherboard which has a Easy Tuner program which I commonly use to watch temps. Appearantly I had selected the easy overclock #1 without knowing. Once corrected, the issue went away and all graphics are back to normal. In summary, if you have this issue and you are currently overclocking, you may want to do some more tweaking :)

Thanks to all those who tried to help, I deeply appreciate it!
