7 Days to Die

Statistiche:
My game is completely broken. Please send help. orz
So, my friend gifted me this game earlier tonight, and while it was downloading it got stuck at 100%, causing me to restart my computer. It was finished, so I started it. It took literally ages to load, and in the end (and after some tweaking of the settings) I joined my friend's server for the game to immediately crash. I went to start it again, and it completely hard-crashed my computer (for those of you lucky enough not to know what that is, it black screens your entire computer causing you to have to turn it off manually and turn it back on.) I tried to play it two more times after that, both resulting in hard crashes. I'm trying to fix the graphics, but my download keeps getting stuck at 100%. For god's sake, someone please tell Valve to do something about this.

In case you don't want exposition, here's my problems:
1. The game gets stuck at 100% downloading progress, and never finishes.
2. Playing this game hard-crashes my computer over and over again (mainly becuase of reflection and shadows being on 'low' but this can be fixed easily).

Please send help, and tell the devs to optimize their games AND to make them actually FINISH downloading.

UPDATE: I've tried to delete the local files and re-download it from there, but it just completely crashes my steam. I'm literally about to give up. This game was a waste of my friend's money. This is partially becuase of my ♥♥♥♥ computer, but it's also Valve's fault for glitching my download. The hard-crashing issue is easily mendable, but this 'download stuck at 100%' bug? I have no idea how to solve that. Any ideas/suggestions/solutions are appreciated. I really wanna play this game, and the devs aren't to blame.
posting your PC specs always helps, but you might need to contact steam support.

I know this sounds stupid, but I have no idea what my PC specs are. I know my PC's complete garbage (it runs Windows Vista), but it can run Chivalry, so I assumed I'd be able to run this. Apparently not. But I will contact steam support.
also post output log - this will tell them whats stuck and why

Are you telling me to send the crash report? That won't help. I can fix the game crashing no problem, but it's literally stuck at 100% download, and will NOT complete. I have no idea what is wrong with it, but it won't finish.

I had the same problem on a windows 7 PC and the only way I resolved it was by transferring the game folder over from another computer or forcing the download continuously until it finished.

Something corrupts the download as it's downloading and havn't figured out what the main cause is.

I did some research and figured out it's apparently a "VERY rare glitch" for Steam. Still, Valve needs to patch this. I've also heard that this game is absolute garbage anyways, so I guess playing it doesn't matter, but now I want it off my computer. There's no way to get rid of it. I have Windows Vista, but if you had the same issue, then it isn't my computer that's causing the glitch, and neither is it the game (hopefully). The way I see it, there are only two culprits: Steam, or the devs. It could even be both. But please somebody contact steam support and the devs and tell them that 7 Days to Die is literally breaking people's computers. I can't do it myself mainly because of how bad my computer is, and all the adware on it which I have no way of getting rid of.

R.I.P 7 Days to Die dev team. You guys- OMG it just finished downloading while I was typing this. Hold on, lemme see what's up with it.
Most people around here would tell you this is probably the best early access on steam. Regardless, its not garbage. You need to like the sandbox kind of gameplay of things like minecraft to DayZ to pretty much any other survival game out there. Its rather enjoyable, though buggy at times. I do suspect though that your PC might give you more troubles along the way so be warned, given the game isn't optimized or finished.

Yeah, it keeps crashing. I've officially given up trying to fix it, since the lowest possible settings still make it crash instantly. Creating a world doesn't work at least. I'll try one more time joining one of my friends, and if it crashes again, I'll know why. I'll just let it sit on my steam library forever until I get a new (and better) computer.

You need to try changing the render as it might help with the crashing. Are you on mac or windows? If on mac, set the launch option by right clicking 7 Days To Die in steam > Properties > Launch Options > -force-opengl. If on windows do the same thing and try both -force-opengl and -force-d3d11.

This game is still early alpha so you will want to at least meet the recommended specs (minimum specs is doable but there is currently a memory leak).

Wait hold on, is there a specific way I need to type this in the launch options? I'm using windows, and I opened properties and set the launch options to 'force-opengl' and I'm not sure if that's going to change anything. You need to be a little more specifiic.
Oh, and also I another troubleshoot for another bug. When my game crashes, I go and try to play it again, and it HARD CRASHES my entire computer. I'm talking about a black screen, causing me to have to completely hard reset my computer. Any ideas?
You put it in exactly what I typed... -force-opengl (no space)...

We can't help you on this if you don't post your pc specs, lol.
