stuck receiving and loading configs

Hey, just got a bran new pc, and i get this. I can't join my friends game, they can't join mine, i am just stuck. is there a quick fix?

Have you tried letting it load for a few minutes? Sometimes, the first time loading a game/map takes awhile.

Yeah, it goes all the way to unable to connect to server

For anyone having this issue I too was jumping through hoops trying to resolve it. Uninstalling the game, mods, redownloading and sometimes it worked but I found a much easier, quicker, and painless solution.

When the game is stuck at the "Receiving and Loading configs..." open console command with F1 then type literally anything, you can type "anything" or "test" and the game will continue loading and won't be stuck anymore. Cheers!
