If you get an Oops message with a crash folder/date {applies only to crashes}

In the steam client.
Right Click 7 Days To Die and select properties
Click the Local Files Tab
Click the Browse local files button.
You should see a folder with the date of the crash
go into that folder, open output_log.txt
Copy all the contents {CTRL+A then CTRL+C}
paste the contents to http://pastebin.com
Include the link to that paste.

If you do not get an Oops message with a crash folder/date
{applies to crashes and all other issues}:
Use the following procedure to reproduce the problem:
First Exit the game or make sure the game is not running.
Start the game. Do NOT ALT+TAB.
Reproduce the problem.
Exit the game.
In the steam client.
Right Click 7 Days To Die and select properties
Click the Local Files Tab
Click the Browse local files button.
double-click the \7DaysToDie_Data\ folder
open output_log.txt
Copy all the contents {CTRL+A then CTRL+C}
paste the contents to http://pastebin.com

Start > run > dxdiag
Click Save All Information.
Open DxDiag.txt found at the location you chose to save it.

That error is a new one on me, and you said you've had that since before the update.
I honestly don't know offhand. Have you tried a clean install of the game? Other than that I do not know what to try unless a developer comments.
