Profile and All Saved Games Disappeared
Anyone have this happen to them-

Played 7 days to die over a few days to work on a new game, spent a lot of time building a nice fortress, gathering materials, etc. This is my fourth saved game and I play on a LAN server with friends.
Today, I got into the game to play and clicked "continue game," and it said I had no profile. When they created the profile system, it said the same thing, so I before I had made a profile and boom, my saved games were there. This time, all my saved games (total of 71 hours since I bought the game months ago) are GONE. Nothing in the game indicates I have ever even loaded it up. This not only frustrates me but everyone else who plays on my server.
Is there a fix or am I doomed to wonder if my stuff is going to be there every time I load up? I realize this game is in alpha, but in the months I have had it, though updates and patches, I have NEVER had such an annoying problem. Please advise.

No backups at all? Are all of your games on the server, or are you talking about SP saves on your local PC too?

I haven't once had local saves disappear.

I host a LAN server. It's MP but all of the saves are (were) on my computer locally. Or at least that's how I thought it worked. When I went into "continue game" it indicated the entire profile had been lost. My character, all my saves since I bought the game, everything.

Oh, so a co-op style MP game. If you were the host, then yes they would all be saved locally.

Did you manually check your \My Documents\7 Days To Die\Saves\ folder to see what was in there? That's where they are all kept, and unless you delete them they should still be.

I just went and looked. The only saved game in the file is the one I created yesterday off the suggestion of sniped4 above, with the same name as the last game I was playing in hopes it would "come back." No such thing happened and there are no other saved games there. I am mystified.

That's really odd. I've yet to see (in the year I've been involved) the game delete local saves unless told to. You didn't do a rollback with Windows' System Restore or something similar, right? And you didn't go and intentionally delete all of the character profile(s) you had?

Is anyone else able to access your computer? Say a disgruntled little brother or prankster friend?

that is the danger of investing to much effort/time into an alpha. Alpha is for testing, been through this many times with many games. Play it casually without the big effort investment untill it reaches final release.

I didn't think that 71 hours over 4 months was a massive time investment. It would be frustrating no matter what game this happened to.

No one else has access to my computer. It was literally one of those where it was fine the night before, I go through the day, come home and log on and it's gone.

Having the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem its infuriating. It seems like me and you are the only people with this problem. Ive tried everything but I guess I have just wasted 36 hours of my life.
KleinGulo 23 ENE 2017 a las 3:23 a. m.
Are there other problems with your computer? Like a different desktop background picture? As the saves are stored in your Windows profile folder there is maybe a problem with your profile and you log in with a temporary one. Go to c:\users and check if there is something odd.
