Only one friend can't join (Cannot retrieve server info)

Dedicated server on its own machine. Ports are open, no mods on server or client side. I have friends on the West Coast USA, Texas USA, and the UK playing on this server with no problem. My buddy down the street "cannot retrieve server info". We both have a fresh install, fully vanilla, of the game.

Cannot figure anything out that would be preventing him from joining. Anyone have any ideas at all? He's always been able to join previous 7d2d games run from this very machine.

Check the router/firewall/antivirus settings that may be blocking ports. You can read more about this in the support section.

On my end? Because I feel like if it was a port issue, nobody would be able to join it. Everyone but one dude can join it. Ports are open, and I can say for certain that I do not have a firewall or antivirus that is blocking the ports.

tell your friend who can not join, to clean up his system -> temp files ect. if he has searchbars installed uninstall them, run the antivirus (all files) and reboot - try again to join.

it has with port forward to do.

1. Make sure you have open your ports on your firewall
2. Open ports on your router
3. You need to have a "Public" ip adress etc mine is private but can ask my operator to fix a public one, You can also buy VPN service it will open a public Pv4 address for you.

OR you can just open a game and invite your friends to the game its easier and cost nothing.

Its weird because he can join other servers. I have no protocols disabled, and all ports are open via my router software.

He can even join other 7d2d games. I checked if I had mods installed accidentally, no dice. Had him verify files, no dice. Cant figure out why one dude (and only one dude out of 5) cant join the server.

I have the same issue. fresh install, removed the AppData etc no mods. Cant join my friends games.

You're absolutely sure he can't join your server directly via IP address?

I believe I found a solution.

-First, make sure your server has a password.
-Next,find the server in the server browser and attempt to connect.
-when prompted with a password, type in a WRONG password and click ok.
-the connection should fail and it will tell you to re-enter the password
-enter the correct password this time and click ok
- it should connect this time

I've tested this process 3 separate times when prompted with the connection error and it's worked every time
