because right after we have a region where we engage a bunch of zombies, it starts laggin, even if there is only a small amount of zombies, like 6-10, its everytime the spawning starts we noticed it happens
You should probably file a bug report on the official forums and try to tell how to reproduce the problem step by step.
Dude. Seriously? It´s still experimental.
If you are on a20 experimental, be sure to wipe all data from previous versions and try a new map with a new seed you have not used previously.
we did a complete fresh A20 server. pregen a 10k map i think it was?
Strange, my PC is lower than your, i5 3ghz 16gb RAM GTX 1060 6gb & no SSD, I can play in a big city with nearly 100 spawn of zombies/animal & I have a verage of +/-75 fps (I use mod to spawn more zombie/animal).
But I don't play with auto setting to high/ultra & only play in 1080p.
(aa/effect/color/light/shadow are set to off, all weird/crappy option dynamic is to off too, texture quality full)
So try by down setting & go test in a new party in a city & then active dev mode & then spawn zombies until you will got lag to see how much you will get fps...
(do spawn zombie/animal until you have nearly +/-75 eachother it's enought, with command LE to see how many entity is active)
A moderator said in another post about 10k map is instable something like that...
Reduce the max simultaneous amount of simultaneously available zombies down to 15-20. Disable Dynamic Mesh when in big city. Reduce object and terrain quality, reduce shadow and texture filtering quality.
That should help you keeping your fps at playable rate.
Big hordes and big buildings = 10-30 FPS
Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
16 GB RAM
Lowering settings does not help.
My brother has same issue on his $6k computer
This is the case for any AMD CPU prior to 3rd gen Ryzens, and for a few models afterwards. There are some newer Intel chipsets that would benefit from this as well.
Your 2080 can't do jack when you have a CPU bottleneck like the Hoover dam.
Don't try to make it look like my computer is the issue. I can run literally Cyberpunk and Red dead redemption 2 on max settings without ever dropping below 60 FPS.
I have played most survival games out there including a game as poorly optimized as Ark Survival Evolved on max settings without ever dropping below 60 FPS.
I have played 7 days to die since it was released and looked like Minecraft and never had FPS issues until Alpha 20.
I guess my brothers $6k PC that has the best CPU and GPU money can buy in 2022 isn't strong enough to run 7 Days to Die either.
The game has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization and needs to be fixed. But given how old this thread is, that seems likely not to happen. Will try and reinstall again in a couple of years when alpha 21 releases, thanks.
Sure, ok, but did you try the core affinity fix that was suggested? I'm interested to hear if it helped.
Also, Gaming on PC has never been a hands-off "it just works" experience. No amount of money will buy a PC that you never have to maintain nor tweak on occasion. If you want an "it just works" experience, maybe consoles are for you.
Also, if an overpriced 6k PC can't do a stable 60FPS, but a PC that was obsolete ten years ago can, where exactly do you think the issue really is? It's not the game client. That's for sure.
I'm not saying the game is fully optimized yet. You're just making a hell of a lot of uneducated assumptions.
Hey, no I did not try it. I uninstalled the game until Alpha 21. When I buy a game I expect something as basic as optimization to work properly especially when the game graphically looks like it came out in 2006. The fact alone that this wasn't hotfixed as soon as it was reported is very unserious and disrespectful of the developers, but yea that's the gaming industry now days. Like I said I'll just wait and see what changes in Alpha 21.
Unsubbed from discussion so I won't be notified of further replies.
