light source make my GPU heat
So I have 10 light sources in my base, 8 torches + forge and campfire, I figured my pc was making more noise when im in base so I thought its the lightsources, I tried removing 4 torches and my GPU went down 6°C from 75 to 69. do you guys know what exactly I could tweak in my settings to improve this?

Improve what? Going from almost idle to slightly more idle? There's no advantage to making your GPU work less, unless you are seeing noticeable frame drops, which is probably not the case considering both temps you listed are low temps.

it makes a crackling sound when it goes too high and I like to see clear in my base
and it seems like the campfire is actually a big deal, worth about 4 more torches difference

use electric lights, This game is an unoptimized mess

Electric lights have performance effects in 1.0 now, too. Dunno if it's the same kind of performance re: the OP, but many have commented on things like headlamp and other. even my drone's light mod.

For base lighting, use candles at the moment. Not much one can do re: forges and campfires tho - except turn your GPU fan up to see if that helps stabilize temps to what you want, if temp concern is the main issue for OP. Or underclock the gpu a little bit. Stuff like that.

Edit: gpu temps going up and down while playing isn't particularly unusual. If it's making more noise it's likely because the fan is going faster and maybe the fan itself is making the noise - eg, bearings noisy at certain speeds.

Protip make or buy lanterns off traders. They are super bright, do not use electricity, and like a torch you can freely pick them back up, they also do not generate heatmap. My box on stilts base is pretty big, and 1 Lantern on the cieling in the center of it is enough to make the entire structure bright. They usually cost 266 dukes at the trader, make sure its "Lantern" and not Old Lantern (The old one is trash). I basically sit in the dark till I get one of these now a days. I get enough screamers it is just running a single forge, campfire and 4 dew collectors as it is.

Try it, its easly the best base lighting source and if you use advance rotation you can make it nicely hang from the cieling by its base. Has no upkeep, no heat gen (that I know of) and is easly the brightest light i've seen for a base.

^ I've used player crafted lamps in the past because they didn't have a fps hit and needing no electric skill/wiring up, which I like. They seem to have a fps hit now tho, at least for me, because of shadows stuff I think - how much I notice depends on placement/angle/height and how many shadow casts they create, perhaps.

Doesn't make my gpu heat up tho. :)

Shadows and reflections are very unoptimized in this game. I have textures maxed out, but even low shadows destroys my fps. If you don't want to ruin the look of the game turn reflections off. This gives me a big performance gain, which in turn uses less GPU as long as you cap your fps to your monitor refresh rate (VSync).
