Cannot connect to private server, EAC authentication failing even when launching without EAC

Exactly what it says on the tin. I've removed all my mods, tried launching as admin, completely uninstalled the game, reinstalled to a brand new folder, not even in the same location, and every time I try to connect to my friend's server, I get the same error message;

Kicked by EAC: Authentication of client failed - Authentication timed out (1/2)

Everyone else can connect to the server without a problem, this is JUST on my end, and I have no idea why. Any help would be welcomed and appreciated.

same lol i think all you can do for now is not use anti cheat on the server

Where is the private server in relation to you?

When I host a private server and my friend is on the other side of the country from me, he can't play with EAC enabled because of the ping flagging him as cheating. If it's a local/LAN server, then that shouldn't matter.

REINSTALLED GAME? SAME VERSION? one more thing you can do is under users.. apps find 7d2d and rename that folder.. try launching game again see if u can get in.. cus that the only 7d not wiped on clean install edit that would be c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/7daystodie/
rename so if it dont help u restore .. if it does help ah well delete that you lose all your saves. also would windows firewall mess with that? auth timed out? something cant talk?

The server doesn't have EAC on, as far as I'm aware, so we're all mystified why this is an issue.
