Zombies spawn in my base
At horde night or screamer horde for some reason spawns inside my base, i thought zombies couldn't spawn in the radius of the land claim block.
Did something change, is it bugged or did i do something wrong?

Yes i have a seperate horde base about 70 blocks away from my main base.

LCB only prevents the original POI zeds from respawning. Everything else is fair game.
Horde night zeds also spawn within a certain range of the player. Walls do not keep them out if they are to far out (for example, at the outer edge of the LCB zone.

So this means i need to make my horde bases much further away and need to deal with screamers that spawn hordes inside of my base.

I didn't knew this and is new for me, but if all is fair game, why make a base when it doesn't stop zombie spawns.

thanks for the response :cozybethesda:

Happy to help. And yes, a very common tactic is to have separate home and horde bases. They don't have to be too far apart (makes it easier to travel between them) and the BM hordes spawn on your location and move in, so you won't have to worry about them absentmindedly trashing your home base while you're waiting.

For screamers, while they do a few sounding screams to alert you to their presence, they don't actually summon anything unless they see you (the short little barking screams versus the banshee howl). You can do a line of secondary defenses around your base itself, like additional wall layers or a row of spikes and let the screamers cash themselves out on them.

Also, screamers are drawn to the area by activity, so exterior walls may still keep them out if they spawn far enough out. They're not out to get you specifically; just the fact that "something is going on here" and they're investigating. Best to take them out quick and quiet.

Bedrolls and LCB do help prevent zombie spawns from the area around where they are placed. I make 1 base for everything, not 2 (not a horde base and normal base), and I've never had zombies spawn in my base, including from screamers and including 1.0 as well. My base is not the entire green area though, I make my bases medium sized.

Before 1.0 when screamers see me zombies would spawn far away from my base, but since today both screamers that saw me spawned in a horde inside my base while they are outside. Is no problem to take them out, but it is frustrating that it is possible.
I will have to adjust my playstyle let my base handle screamers with defenses.

Thanks again
