Windows Block Light for Gardens

I spent a couple hours putting together a very spacious greenhouse to grow something like 400 crops at a time with space to work in some decorative irrigation pipes later, only to discover that the game doesn't recognize the glass ceiling as being transparent. Apparently it's not checking for the block shape, only the block type, so it sees the glass ceiling as a type of wood. Not only are the glass block shapes are very limited and honestly not great to look at, they drastically reduce the incoming light despite visually not blocking any light at all,

It ended up being easier to just accept that I needed holes in my roof and use visual tricks to hide them than try to make glass work. I don't remember this issue in the last version I played, and the wiki seems to match what I remember rather than what I'm seeing. I think there's some code somewhere that needs to be reverted to an older version.
