World downloading everytime I connect
Hello all,

I'm running the 1.0 experimental on a dedicated server. Each time I or any of my friends connect we have to download the world/map which takes sometimes 5-10 minutes.

I was just curious if there is any way to achieve this.

My system specs if needed are
Nvidia 3080 Ti
32gigs of ddr5 memory
AMD 7950X cpu
Windows 11

Any help would be appreciated

I find myself with the same issue on my server. It went away when I changed the maximum world send speed to 1300 in Serverconfig.xml

Running 1.0 stable and am having to download the world every time as well. I don't remember having to do this on the last server I hosted, which was just a few months ago.

I'm playing a local game and it seems to take a lot longer to load as it loads all prefabs, etc as if I'm playing the world for the first time. Also performance seemed to get worse except for when you are inside.

Same, same. Very annoying.

Same issue here. Setup a server and anyone joining has to download the world/map every time they join (takes 3 minutes+). I'll try upping the world send speed and see if that fixes it.

I changed this and it did reduce the time downloading the world from 3 min to 1 min so that is better, but still find it odd that you need to download the world every time you join the server.

Hi everyone,
was there ever any workaround or solution to this?

We recently set up a dedicated server running the latest experimental with the official Navezgane map and all our players get the same effect of having to download the world on every game join.

Apart from the max bandwidth to reduce download times a bit, I couldn't find any obvious option in the server settings to help with this.

We didn't have this issue at all on our last server pre-1.0.

Any help is greatly appreciated, but many thanks in advance either way!

The problem is a lack of region verification before download. Currently any changes, even a single block placed, requires redownloading the entire map, instead of just the updated region files.

This will not change until TFP implements region verification.
