Low gpu usage.
No matter what graphics settings I have my gpu usage is between 30-60% while I barely maintain 60 fps.

Why won't the game use my gpu fully?

A bottle neck somewhere else. CPU, RAM, drive speed just to name a few options.

There is no bottle neck. I run cyberpunk on high settings, temps are fine. Game is just poorly optimized from being in alpha for 10 years. Same thing on my brothers computer with intel and nivida when I run amd/amd.

Well, you asked the question. If you were already so sure about the answer, why? Cyberpunk and 7 are not at all alike.

7DTD is CPU-heavy due to the use of voxels. While GPU is still important, having a higher-end CPU will make your experience perform better.

I have a 5600X and 16gb of 3200 mhz cl 16 ram with a 6600 xt.
My brothers computer is a 11400 with same ram and a 3060 ti.
Both have 1tb m2 ssds.

We both experience stutters in game and bad performance but his performance is slightly better. My cpu never goes above 50% it shouldn't have any issues feeding gpu instructions.

You're saying that my computer is the problem when I run more optimized games just fine which are more demanding and looks better. Stop defending the 10 year old alpha that isn't optimized.

I haven't defended anything or anyone. If you just want to fight or argue with people, good luck to you.

What are your current settings? Have you disabled distant terrain?

Okay, but you asked the question at the end of your original post: "Why won't the game use my gpu fully?" Therefore you received an answer from SuperMeatBag as thus. He wasn't criticizing you. He was offering an answer to your question.

If all you were doing was stating the game seems to be not optimized, then don't ask the now-very-obviously-redundant question you did.

A proper bug report goes something like this:

-----------

My System Specs: XYZ
Game Settings: XYZ
ISSUE: GPU runs at 30%-60%, frame rates top at 60FPS, average out around 40-50FPS. Already tried lowered settings. Doesn't seem to matter.

I tried high settings, tried custom setting lowering terrain, grass and object quality to medium, view distance medium, lod 50%, reflections off, ss reflections off etc.

Still no bueno mostly in a large city granted but cyberpunk is also a large city and doesnt run like dogwater on high settings. The issue stems from low gpu usage, I know the game can't run more than 4 cores which is an indication of it probably not being able to utilize gpus fully.

Now I'm forced to run a mix of high texture settings and AA along with medium shadows, water high, particles and lod 25%, view distance and grass distance medium, terrain and object medium, occlusion obviously on, bloom ssao and sun shafts on rest off.

If the game would just use my gpu 100% I probably wouldn't have a problem, but the highest I've seen is 70% and lowest 30%, it's meant to be basically capped 99% like in most modern well optimized games I've played (cyberpunk, witcher 3, metro exodus, horizon zero dawn, red dead redemption 2, dying light 2, outer worlds spacers choice edition, baldurs gate 3. I play all of those games on high settings and maybe some settings turned down/off in more demanding titles like cyberpunk.

I mean look at recommended specs for this game, it hasn't updated since the release I think. Recommending 4gb vram gpus...

I don't think it's a secret that the game is poorly optimized and stuck in eternal alpha hell. Doesn't mean I haven't gotten my moneys worth in playtime but the developers are to blame for not finishing their game earlier after making tons of money. A 10 year old game still in alpha there is no excuse for that.

Well this ended in a rant but I did make this thread to ask if anyone knew how to fix it.

guns nerds and steel featured someones mod that fully utilizes your pc for the game, no frame drops or anything. consistent frame rate even in cities. he's on youtube if you aren't aware

Thanks, I'll check it out. But after some googling I learned that disabling dynamic mesh or whatever it's called helped a lot and probably gained me 20-30 fps. Will need to test further to see if it works all over or just in the area I'm in now.
