Turrets allies targeting button don't work ???

I have made different tests about the shotgun and 9mm turrets targeting options and they do not target Allies if you set the option on.
I had an multiplayer allie, he was wandering near my turrets. They were set to shoot allies and didn't worked. I simply cancelled the "ally" option in the multiplayer in game panel and he was shot dead. The kill was confirmed by a message with my name and I got the steam award for MP killing.
The player was killed ONLY because I set the turret to kill also stranger, zombies beside allies that doesn't work.
Please correct the option so it can work as intended.
