Cabinet and secure wooden chest disappeared

My boyfriend and I were playing the game the other day and I had to put a wall up beside where one of our cabinets and chests were and it let me place my wall. I had to use fly mode to place the higher up pieces and I was using the creative mode, but nothing seemed to be glitching. Then we logged out and came back a couple days later to find that the cupboard and chest right beside the wall were gone. There was no damage from any zombies or other players, everything was as we left it but those two things were gone. I think maybe they glitched out because the wall was built too close to the chest but then why did it let me place the wall if it overlapped? Luckily there wasn’t super important stuff in there!! Also, the place were in is a prefab base but we’ve done repairing and added stuff to it. We’re ma8nly in the basement of the place so I don’t know if it works differently down there for placing stuff.

Do you have a land claim block placed inside the structure? Are your bedrolls inside, as well? Have any zombies re-spawned since you took the place over? Is this a privately owned server or are you co-playing? POIs will not regenerate on their own, as far as I am aware, unless someone takes a quest that resets the entire thing. As long as your wall was attached properly and there was no instability (structural instability will show itself by the blocks turning a different color, yellow to red, as they become more unstable when you're placing them) then this should not have happened.

Basement or attic shouldn't work any differently than the rest of a structure. However, if the wall did create an instability, as the POI drew when you were logging into the game, it could have drawn in such a way as to destroy those things if they had, somehow, gotten overlapped. Otherwise, someone with more knowledge about that sort of thing may have a better understanding.

There is a land claim block in the structure and so there haven't been any zombies spawning in it. Our bedrolls are in there as well. We're coplaying I think. I created the game and invite him to my world and we play together. It didn't show any indication of being unstable but the only thing I can think of is they overlapped and therefore the chest and cabinet got deleted with our stuff inside. It hasn't happened since though, which is good.
