7 Days to Die
Can't play. Main menu doesn't appear&it fails connecting EPIC games ¿?
Hi everyone.

I have a problem running 7Days since the very beginning. I just got no menu when I run the game, just the title, after showing "Loading textures...", "Loading characters" and a couple of messages more. It's just the name of the game, the music and blank background. If I press F1, I can read the font code of an error message running in yellow colour:

WRN [EOS] LogHttp - Warning [000002590A7FE5B0: invalid HTTP response code received. URL: https://api.epicgames.dev/sdk/v1/default?platformId=WIN.

and also it repeats something with a similar previous structure like

WRN [EOS] LogHttp - Warning [000002590A7FE5B0: libcurl error: 7 (Couldn't connect to server)
WRN [EOS] LogHttp - Warning [000002590A7FE5B0: libcurl info message cache 0 (Trying 188.165.xxx.xxx...)
it's not 6 X, I hide the numbers
WRN [EOS] LogHttp - Warning [000002590A7FE5B0: libcurl info message cache 1 (TCP_NODELAY set)
WRN [EOS] LogHttp - Warning [000002590A7FE5B0: libcurl info message cache 2 (...)

and some other lines, after "message cache 8" refering to being unable to connect, and just looping the operation failing everytime.
------

Just to mention, I tried to run the game totally offline with wifi turned off and no cable, and it asked to run at least one time the game connected to internet before playing offline.
------

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on? Thanks so much

It's me again. I've found that EOS means Epic Online Services, and some people in other forums suggest to allow everything the game could need to run in the firewall or antivirus setting.

I've done it, as good as I knew, and I've installed EPIC Games Launcher as well to allow it directly in order to cooperate with the inner intentions of the game (cause I find strange how Epic got involved in all this to be honest) but it keeps showing me the same error when I read the report pressing F1 at the title screen.

Yo for real, this is frustrating. Any advice or suggest or whatever is really welcome

You don't need the EPIC Games launcher to play the game...
Hopefully someone can help you with your problem.
Just shooting from the dark here, but seeing as it has to do with connecting to Epic service, I would assume there's something in the way. Obviously updating Windows and your vid drivers is first. Any other PC issues? Remove any antivirus programs, VPN programs, anything that supposedly improves your PC. Run /msconfig and disable anything not required on startup. Finally, uninstall 7 Days and Epic launcher, restart PC, then download and install fresh.

*edit* If you haven't, turn off your router & modem for at least 5 min, unplug power if you have to. Restart PC after unplugging them. Age/condition of equipment plays a role believe it or not. Anything can happen.

If it continues then you might have a network proxy, you might have something running, there's too many possibilities without more information about your setup. Are you on a network? Do you have any special protection? What Windows are you running? Vid card type and current version? DirectX? Other game issues aside from 7 Days? Happy to help but its like diagnosing a sickness without seeing the patient.

Happy new year everyone and thanks for the message.

I will follow your advice and let's see if at some point it works. Anyway, I will try to install it at another work station I have "just for work" but definitely more powerful and new than this "old" laptop (i7 tho but from 2017) I used for work and gaming purposes.

Thanks again!
