Game loads but loading screen doesn't disappear

I've been playing my new world for months now with no problems. But then the other day I got off because I started having a lag every 3 seconds which is dangerous with traps everywhere. Today I hopped on to fight my 56th day, the time was 18:00 when I had signed off but then when my picture appeared I was already being attacked with the time at 22:28.
So what's happening is the load screen to get into game where you can click through the tips is sticking around after I'm in game. I can click Tab and bring up the Menu, get into my points tree, exit menu and options. But I can't actually play because the loading screen background doesn't go away, all while I'm seeing the clock just tick along.
I've had no new updates to the game, to Windows, to drivers, Nvidia or Intel. Nothing has changed except the game just letting me play.
Has this happened to anyone else or found a solution?

I started a new game and everything worked normal. So it must be a corrupted save. Thanks guys.

Hoping this somehow gets seen again in searches...
The same concept has happened again on a new game I've been playing with my wife. Almost to day 100 and the problem has happened again. I don't think the save can be corrupted because while I'm stuck on the load screen and can open menus, my wife gets into the game just fine and actually finds my character. So everything loads and she can play, I just get stuck viewing the load screen only and can't physically play.
Any suggestions for this updated info?

I would hope that somehow people could learn to read before making a post like this.

1. The solution is already in the thread.

2. You don't even have to use searches. You simply need to learn how to click on the link to the Support forum section and read the Pinned threads.

3. Your issue is not the same, so it is not relevant to this thread. The save is intact because she can play. The part that is corrupted is your character data. Solution is to remove your character data from the save.

....The issue was the exact same issue I had before when I posted this...
I've looked in your Pinned, Trouble Shooting discussion and it's not relevant to what's happening to me. Did you only read my title? The game loads and I can open Menus and click exit game, I can hear everything including changing and using weapons, spend my skill points, etc. I just can't see anything in the game because the load screen stays. It's not a problem of the game taking long to load.
I know there are players out there who just want an answer as soon as something goes wrong. But I spent most of a day searching, attempting, testing and troubleshooting before I finally gave in and decided to post my question because an answer couldn't be found here on Steam, Reddit or even general Google.
The previous answers of a corrupt character don't appear to be the issue as previously thought since I was able to play the map today with no issues. Also since I wasn't sure yet if this was a "bug" with the game and hoping for suggestions (which were received awesomely) I started this question after searching loads of others hoping it was already answered somewhere else.

And as someone who plays the games and doesn't delve deep into the files of the game. How does removing my character data help me? After I remove it, what gets put back so I have a character? Your solution seems to be step 1 with no further instructions.
Nevermind, I'll go do a search for a pinned thread explaining it..
