If you have Notepad++, it'll tend to highlight any bit in an .xml that doesn't have the proper syntax, if for example it's something like a missing quotation mark.

If not, you got bigger problems than just useless error messages
I tried explaining this to someone else in the support forum and the poor guy got angry at me for it (after I spent hours trying to help him). If you load your game with a mod, that save is now forever and irrevocably modded, even if you uninstall the mod 5 minutes later.
He kept saying "But I verified files and reinstalled" while getting angry, and I tried explaining to him there's a difference between the game files and your save game. He never got it.
