Saves are located in "C:\Users\<YourUser>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves\<WorldName>\<SaveGameName>"
So for example, my creative test world would be in "C:\Users\Psyche\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves\Navezgane\TestingWorld"
The folder <SaveGameName> and all of it's contents are your save file. So all you'd need to do is delete or relocate the <SaveGameName> folder and it's contents, then place the backup in the location where it was.
If you don't have a backup of the save file, Or the above fails to work (Which it shouldn't if you have a backup of a working save), then you can alternatively try the possible fix Sylen wrote up for correcting save corruption- It's not a guarantee, but, may work.

Strongly recommend in both cases to make a backup of the corrupted save file before trying anything; You can delete it once you've got a working save, but, prior to that it may be salvagable through other methods and you don't want to blow future attempts by working with the only existing copy.
Definitely make sure to keep a backup going forward. It's not too hard to make a batch file to do it with one click, but it can save you losing all of your work instead of some of your work in the event that a possible fix like the one Sylen wrote up doesn't work.
