Mouse button 4 and 5 detected as left alt

When I try to remap controls for mouse button 4 and 5 on my Redragon Centrophorus mouse, they both get detected as left alt instead. Does the game not support extra mouse buttons?

With my logitech the game will detect Button 4 and 5 (with higher buttons getting default mappings). I use the mouse software though to remap the buttons. I assume Redragon has something similar. Maybe you have a default profile with Alt assigned to those buttons?

Other games detect it as 4 and 5 even though it's assigned to back and forward commands in the mouse software. The mouse software only allows it to be mapped to things like double click, cut, paste etc. Maybe it's just a compatibility issue with this mouse.

Maybe. I never use Button 4, etc. I always remap to the keyboard keys. Say I want a mouse button for inventory, I'll just set it to send the Tab key. That way I still have the keyboard controls available, and if I just leave the in game binds to default I don't have to redo them all when an update resets everything.
