military fiber book unlock

Problem:
I had already learned this through advanced engineering and crafted several. Later, I got the schematic in loot and it shows that it is not learned yet.

Expectation:
When obtaining the schematic as loot, it should have shown that this was already learned.

Solution:
Make sure schematics update properly when already unlocked by a skill.

To clarify, did you get the military fiber schematic or a book that taught the military fiber recipe?

If it was a schematic, i agree. If it was a book, you still need to read the book to complete the book series for the series completion reward.

If it was a book, you still actually need to read it so it should show as unread.

There's actually a reason for this. There's an item in the game called Grandpa's Fergettin' Elixer that allows you to completely reset your skill tree, Doing so will remove any recipes learned from any skills removed; However it does not affect what books you have read. If you know something from both a skill and a book, then when you respec you retain the recipe from the book.

So to use your case as an example, you have learned the Military Fiber recipe from Advanced Engineering. If you then respec your skills, you won't be able to craft Military Fiber. However if you were to read the Military Fiber book, then you could respec and still be able to craft the Military Fiber, as you still know it from the book.
