Finally got my Linux server running, but trying to connect from another Linux desktop results in "SocketException an address incompatible with the requested protocol was used". Any way to fix it? Thanks.

A18 now appears to require ipv6 module loaded even if only using ipv4.

Thanks. I've had ipv6.disable=1 in my grub config for years. Removed it and A18 works now. Had to do the same thing to get the server to run. Sucks because that means managing two firewalls - one for ipv4 and one for ipv6. I have ipv6 setup to allow lo interface on INPUT but then reject everything else. Default drop on FORWARD and INPUT chains. Guess that's not so bad.

This is frustrating. I've had IPv6 disabled for years. Why does the dedicated server require it? The game client doesn't seem to use it.

Dunno. It's stupid. Nobody needs ipv6 unless they're an ISP. The devs are probably just using the defaults of whatever network library they are using.
