Yes indeed, I have had that happen on a few occasions and lost the majority of my base, crafted items, and loot contained within. I posted a question on the forums to see if anyone else experienced this issue. From the information in the replies, I concluded that this issue happens when the chunk loads that your base is contained on. In other words, when you leave your base and go off to adventure, the chunks (map area) that your base is located basically despawns since you're elsewhere on the map. I suppose the devs designed maps this way to lessen the amount of content that is active at any given point to save processing power. When you come back to the base from adventuring, those chunks (map area) are supposed to load back up. For whatever reason, the game seems to sometimes 'forget' and revert that area of the map back to it's original form. While I have never lost the entire base, I have lost 2/3 of it on four occasions. I was over level 100 each time and so I had a pretty nice setup going. Thinking that the map was bugged, I restarted a new game. After the fourth time this happened, I hung it up.

ya i couldnt find anything about it so thanks for the info, i finally talked to a live streamer about it and I guess if you build your base in a spot that is already there, for example a bimb shelter.....or say you tear down a house and build on the property, the game will reset it's self after some time, its smarter to just use these pre fabed base spots as a starter to collect supplies to build your own from the ground up, and you might have better luck. so im gonna give that a shot and see what happens.

I tried both methods that you mentioned. I built one base on an existing road (for the hardened surface base) in the very center of the Nav map. That base reset. So I restarted and built a base using an existing house (Information Center near the badlands trader). That base reset. So I went down the road from there to the center of an open area bordering the lake and build from scratch on the dirt. That base reset. So I quit! lol!
