Stuck on connecting to server and not ever joining

So basically, I could join my friends server through Steam for the last week or so, then all of a sudden, when I go to join the game, all that happens is I'm stuck on Connecting to server... Werid thing is I can't join any of my friends as well, when they make a server. We tested it to see if it was just him but it turns out it's just me. But the funny thing is, they can join me. So does anyone have the same issue? And if anybody knows a fix for it I'd really appreciate it.

This has been happening to me and my friends a lot in the past 3 days of playing. We've found the only solution to be restarting your PC.

I have searched all over the internet for help on this topic. Nobody has an answer that I can find including the devolopers. I tried everything suggested from uninstalling (which worked for a few days) to the silly advice of "Change your character profile". I love this game but this bug needs a fix if I am going to keep playing it.

iv'e had this problem since i updated to alpha 17 i havent been able to play on servers but can manage to play on single player

I was gifted this game by a friend, I've had this problem since the first time playing it and still have it. I will sit for hours trying all the suggested "fixes" over and over and hopefully get lucky after a while but Im getting sick of it. Nothing has been a permanent fix

I had this problem too, then my friend gave me the 7DTD backup from his pc (he had no problems joining games and stuff) and now it works. No idea if this can fix it for everybody but it worked for me, I hope it can help someone.

SOLUTION FOUND (at least for me this worked)
My original problem was; I can see all the servers, but most are -1 ping and I can't see their IP. The ones that I can't see IP, (including peer to peer friends) it stays in the connecting screen and never loads.

1 Click on play BUT open launcher instead of game.

2 Click tools Right beside start game and you will see a button called clean game data.

3 WARNING this will delete everything you've ever done with 7 days to die. All Gone. FRESH. I don't care so I deleted everything like that. and It worked. I can now see the IP and CONNECT. ping still -1 tho.
