Internet disconnects when attempting to join any server
Yeah, pretty much. Tried restarting my router, my PC, the game. I tried verifying the game cache files, nothing seems to be working so far and I couldn't find anymore possible solutions online.

I used to be able to play this game pretty well without issue and now it just gives me this today. Internet would be fine but then my latency on any server (checked via Steam Server Browser) would spike to nearly 2000 before disconnecting itself when attempting to join a server.

Was wondering if anyone had found a fix for this yet or know any solutions to this sort of issue?

Try disabling Unet in the game launcher.

Don't stay on the server browser too long, you are DDOS:ing yourself. Known problem. You could try turning off "IP flooding" in your router. But your OS firewall will still freak out and leave you w/o internet.

I've already tried disabling UNET via the launcher with the given option. Still no dice.

I barely even tried staying on the browser, even not opening it at all and just joining directly through a friend. My internet still cuts off on me. I have no option in my router to turn off IP flooding or anything related to such.

The results are the same; Lose complete internet connection when trying to join a 7DtD server, only to be able to reconnect after closing the game and waiting up to 5-10 minutes or so.

Try join on a friend through the steam overlay avoiding the server screen all together.

That's what I did. I'm now encountering a new issue where my computer's internet is going haywire on it's own. Even if I'm not in 7DtD at all, the only thing I can see on the Steam server browser is my friend's IP address of his 7DtD server. My mobile doesn't work well with the internet if my PC is on, but if I disconnect the internet from my PC, my mobile works just fine.

Man, coming back to the game is just causing me more issues than not.

Sounds like you have some issue likely not related to the game at all what so ever. Have you done a ping test and checked that you are not being throttled in some way? Could be a malware or a virus issue here too....

1. Open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search bar. If you are using Windows 8.1/Windows 10, simply type "cmd" after the menu has opened.
2. Right click on Command Prompt and click "Run as administrator".
3. Type in the following command: ipconfig /flushdns
--If the command was successful, you will see the message "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache".
4. After flushing your DNS, it's time to reset your TCP/IP protocol using the following command: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
5. Once the procedure has finished, close the Command Prompt and restart your computer.

According to what you are saying your router has two possible issues;
a) it's using pre 2010 QoS service and drops "oldest first"
b) it's new but the QoS is configured improperly, increasing open connections/ports should do the trick.

Brand name & serial of the router?

Or are you using a wifi card on your computer to connect to your mobile?

@SylenThunder
Alright, I've done the procedure. Will this fix my issue with 7DtD servers and allow me to connect to them or does it just possibly correct my internet issue or something? Though I am getting stable connection now, I'm still too worried to try and connect to servers

@Tokfan
Not using a wifi card, connecting my mobile straight to my uh.. router I guess. Computer is connected directly via a cable to the router.

I was able to join the server after I did all your stuff. Everything seemed fine up until I died, and once I respawned in to the world, the whole issue started to repeat itself. Surely I don't have to do all the CMD stuff and restart my computer everytime this issue happens? Or do I..?

Have you tried killing off wireless bandwidth you don't use in the router? 4G, 3G, 2G etc.

Another thing you might try but will get tedious after a few weeks.
For some reason disabling SSID broadcasting helps when combo routers start acting up.
DO NOTE that if you turn off your phone/laptop it almost never will find the network again and you have to go back into the router settings and turn it off, let the mobile devices connect then turn it off again. Can't say for 100% certain if this applies to laptops in power-save mode, maybe someone knows.

I believe the issue is in the router itself and not your computer/phone/game.

@Phylia No, that method isn't something you should need to do on a regular basis.

Ahh.. well, my side's acting up then. I did the method, and it worked. I was able to play and all. Though, first time, I died, my internet cut off once I respawned. The second time I try to do it, I avoided death for a good few days, but then randomly my whole connection would cut again.

@Tokfan
Yeah, I'm considering getting a fresh replacement but knowing our ISP, that's gonna take quite a while before it can happen.
