[LOG]Join a game, Connecting to Server.... Hangs and Never Connects to any multiplayer servers
I was playing on a server for months, got booted yesterday for high ping and now every server that is multiplayer just sits on the connecting to server page for up to 30 minutes with no progress. Tried multiple servers, same thing. Verified File Integrity twice. Reinstalled whole game. Restarted steam. Restarted computer. Waited a day. Made sure I had most updated video drivers. Reinstalled EAC. Nothing but connecting to server, Forever :( I just got a moment of lag, why won't my game work again ever since?

At this point, I'm thinking it's time to nuke everything.

1. Start the Game Launcher. Go to the Tools tab. Click the button for "Clean game data". Tick the top two boxes, and select "All maps" in the Discovered map of remote games option.

2. Go to %appdata%\7DaysToDie and delete everything in the folder.

3. Go to the steam client folder and delete everything there. (i.e. F:\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die)

4. Open Steam, go to Settings. Select Downloads from the left menu. Click the button for "Clear Download Cache".

5. Reboot your PC. We want Steam to be on a completely fresh load.

6. Verify the client. This will make it do a full install since we nuked the data.

7. Reboot again. This is just to clear any cached data.

8. Try again.

This is basically the last ditch, wipe everything, and start with a clean slate "fix". It's the last resort when nothing else has worked.

I am honestly astounded that you connected to my 10k custom map with a fairly decent number of custom mods without an issue, and still have problems connecting to other servers. It makes no bloody sense at all.
My only question is : Will this nuclear option make me restart my progress on a PVP server, because if so, I will lose hundreds of hours of progress..
No. Your progress on a server is saved on the server. It will wipe any local SP games though.

EDIT: When connecting to the server, you will have to re-download the map again. It may take a bit for you explored map to re-sync from the server as well.

That's a loss I can accept. Starting your process.
I can't find %appdata% on a search of my whole computer... Where is that?
The closest result was _appdata_ associated with a different game.
If you put %appdata% into file explorer's address bar, it takes you to your folder.

For example, mine is C:\Users\Sylen\AppData\Roaming

That makes my save folder C:\Users\Sylen\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie
Thanks, search worked for roaming better than appdata for some reason. Got it deleted.
UGH! It seems the nuclear option didn't work either! I still can't connect after sacrificing all my maps, saved games and player profile on the alter of making this game work. SO frustrating! grrrr! Followed all instructions. The glitch persists. I don't know why i can make the handshake connection with you, but nobody else after all the reinstalling I've done.. :(
OK. What antivirus software are you running?
Microsoft Security Essentials.
And I can't imagine why security stuff would allow me to connect to your servers, nor why the parameters would change on something not game related, when what caused the glitch was being booted for high ping.. It worked before... But yeah, double check everything I guess.
Added all those exclusions. Still not loading any servers (other than your test servers probably). Sigh.

I still can't believe this game isn't working and that I can connect to your most complicated test server every time, without fail, and never connect to any of the other 20 random servers I keep trying.. Got any populated servers I can play on since the rest of the game seems indefinitely closed off to me? Why is this glitch so resistant to reinstalling? ugh.. Meanwhile a week passes and my friend and everyone else on the pvp server rocket past me in levels :(

Renuking.. I MUST have missed something... "We've gotta nuke 'em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
