Is it me or do late game hordes kind of make the game unfun?
I understand it makes sense to have hordes progressively get tougher over time, that's the nature of tower defense. But with the past few game weeks, it's getting to the point where I need to dedicate more and more time to just base work and less time to the rest of the game. For the first seven or eight weeks, all I really need to do is build the framework and keep upgrading it, maybe add a few extensions. But now I'm spending full days dedicated to resource collection for concrete and steel and other days dedicated to base building.

There's going to be those people who think base design is the best part of the game and enjoy this, but I don't know if the time to dedicate to other activities is going to be sustainable. I'm not sure if there is or should be a good solution to this, but it's just been on my mind. Then again, what reason is there to keep playing past day 30 anyways when there's nothing left to achieve?

Hurmmm, if you look at YT video for base design you'll quickly realise that when you got a good setup it is VERY easy to repair and maintain.

Also well this is the case for every other survival game out there (well games in general tbh), you get to a point where you are maxed out (some games it happen much faster than others though)

Also Day 30 Still mean that you spend 30 hours straight working on that char, I know a LOT of games that end under 10 hours and they make you pay 80$ for em.. XD

If you want a goal: Clear all the main POIS to find the "cure" aka travel into each biomes and do: The Hospital, Shamway industry,Shotgun messiah industry, Duke's Villa, Nuclear missile silo and Usanagi Biolabs. Clear all of those without dying once!

Yeah, it's easy enough to keep a simple hatch in a doorway going, but there's always the need to keep building contingencies for when that falls. And one wrong move can make everything collapse. Especially when hordes suddenly stop following the path you've laid out for them and start wrecking everything in sight. Then you gotta start over and build a whole new base.

It's fine right now, but I'm starting to see the change in focus.

Since when has that been possible? I thought the only options were from 0-7 days with a 3 day buffer up or down.

Edit: Well then, that's new. Did that change recently?

No, it's been there a long time.

Well I suppose that would be the solution then, thanks.

I'm glad that setting will help you have more fun.

For my part tho, fighting the increasingly tougher hordes is a main part of my fun. It's the reason why I invest time/efforts into electric traps and turrets. About your "what after day 30" question, I play survival with normal xp, I still have a lot to do after day 30, including T6 missions in the WL (which are my end game targets).
