Wrong. The AA12 (that this games shotty seems to be somewhat modeled after, is full auto). Remington 7188, full auto. HK CAWS, Full Auto.
No. You could say it's modeled after a number of tactical shotguns with a similar form factor. I can google too. To me it looks much closer to the Fostech Origin 12. You can find images online with a large drum mag attached, which looks very similar to how the gun looks when seen in MP. Anyway, if tfp wanted a fully automatic shotgun, it would be fully automatic. And then no one would use any other gun.
You said, verbatim "The "auto" part of an auto shotgun is that the next shell is automatically loaded into the chamber when you fire"
How could you say "no" to a rebuttal to that? Your statement is patently incorrect given that there are true examples of actual auto-shotguns in existence. The auto part of an auto shotgun is that it fires conesecutively on a held trigger pull. Semi auto shotguns (or handguns and rifles as well for that matter), means the next shell is loaded into the chamber after the first round is expelled. A semi auto handgun fires once on one trigger pull, and the next round loads into the chamber. That's semi auto. An automatic handgun or shotgun fires multiple rounds on one trigger pull.
"No." Lmfao.... cmon...
People only like to complain about things that matter to them, specially the ones in steam forums. They still don't care that gas cans don't leave empty gas containers, but care so much about empty jars lol.
Either way, auto is just short for automatic, which has a number of applications. Don't think too much on it OP, just touch some grass.
If you are going to be pedantic then make sure you're actually being pedantic. "Auto" means that the weapon has an automatic action that functions without being manually driven by a human. It doesn't NOT NECESSARILY mean that it continues to fire if the trigger is held. This is WHY the distinction is made between "semi" auto and "full" auto.
The M1911 is an automatic weapon. After a round is fired, it automatically readies itself to be fired again without the user needing to manually ready the weapon. An M240 is an automatic weapon. It automatically fires as long as the trigger is held. Both of them have an automatic action. One just automates more steps. The only reason a double action revolver is NOT considered automatic is that while multiple actions take place at the same time, the user still manually drives the action.
Arguments like this are caused by people having enough "knowledge" to talk on a subject but not possessing any real "understanding" of what they're talking about.
It's similar to how some people don't "understand" the difference between a magazine and a clip and just have to make an educated guess on which is which. If they DO understand the difference then they will know what they are looking at even if it's a weapon they've never seen before.
Says the person conflating branding and military naming convention with function.
