My current MO is converting a POI for my home. Throw up some walls and spikes. Maybe drop some turrets down once I get some. Tends to last only have to patch up random holes if a screamer or wondering horde gets a drop on me. While my horde base is a silt box with ladders and some angled railings that the zombies throw themselves off of.
I think about settings style where I entirely disable blood moon and instead make the game throughout max difficult.
they should not care that people cheese the blood moon because we literately can turn it off in game settings.
IMO building is the only redeeming quality the game has. Building and wave surviving. Trader quest rewards are ridiculously inbalanced, almost cheaty.
I do agree that the only cheese of zombies falling to their doom was not really necessary to fix. Can't remember the rest.
Before that I would make 4 beefy small towers connected with catwalks(bars) to shoot down through. I had the ground level as triple pipe blocks so I could ladder to the basement level, looking up, and collect loot bags through the triple pipe blocks safely.
Before that I made my own old parking garage layout. 3-4 stories each with a long ramp. The ramps had a space for a blade trap each, electric fence across, and auto turrets caged in the center. The poor zombies that made it to the top were very weak.
But yeah, still lots of creative things to do. The devs can't take it away unless they take away base building lol.
