The stone axe is my preferred tool for POI exploration as I use one slot instead of 3, no swapping, no stam and a simple rock to repair. I only bring a pickaxe when I'm mining, a chainsaw (late game) when farming wood or a hammer or better for BM repairs. On other time, it's the stone axe.

Generally you find one rather quickly also in a high quality Stage of 5.
with a Mod for Wood it takes 2 Hits to break Doors, 4 Chops to fell a tree.
In the earlier Stages of progression you can be nitpicky with that, but you leave that rly quick behind.
Standartinventory is always Fireaxe, Pickaxe which i swap for maxing out their effectiveness for Wood or breaking things. I left Stoneaxes completely behind for example after some ingamedays.
No need to have Stones or Wood with you all the time, just Repairkits which you can use mostly on all other thiings.
It seem to be just becoming noticable when you play the Game youre own headstrong way.
haha, yep.
