Perhaps a better decision would have been to use some paper cups to drink, which will break down just as any tool you use (pickaxe, shovel, ...).
you craft new ones (from snd) and have a stack of 400+...
Then you just drink from that, so you dont have to fill 20 chests with glasbottles and water.
using a jar.
Maybe you can't because you need to filter the water, due to possible radiation or infected water, in RPG terms?
Making two kinds of water voxals. One that is "flowing water" and one that is "stagnant water". Flowing water acts as water currently does (expands into neighboring spaces and it endless); with the exception that flowing water can only be flowing water if it is next to an existing flowing water voxal. When water is removed from flowing water via a bucket or glass, it becomes stagnant water, disappears when it is consumed, and does not fill neighboring spaces when it is poured out.
This means that if you want a continuous source of water, you need to actually dig a tunnel to a lake or river. You can't just carry a bucket into your cave and make an eternal waterfall out of it (as fun as that sometimes is).
And I second the water filter idea. Making fresh water should be a real pain. Rain catchers could be good too (assuming there will be rain) and evapouration catchers made out of plastic bags would be good too.
I really like these ideas, but drinking directly from a river sounds good too. It could have negative effects, like a chance of making you sick and you make more noise which in turn can lead zombies to you or scare off wild life that you may or may not be hunting.
