Cant turn in 3rd person?

Is 3rd person just for looking at your character or is it a 1st person alternative?

How did you get 3rd person?
Is there a camera key?

f5, but its odd because you can just pan the camera around your character.

Seems to be similar to minecraft if that aspect (F5) to look at your character etc.

Hate to start a new topic on this, so naturally I know how to make a campfire and place it on the ground, but I can't figure out how to set it ablaze.

I hope they remove 3rd person entirely, as having the added peripheral view makes it far too easy for players -not- to be snuck up on, whether by zombies or other players.

Third person seems a bit rough at the moment. I found it more distracting and less immersive, but if it looked and animated better I might play in that perspective.
