and Spiff, thats sounds like port forwarding issue you need to setup on your router. got the same error when my friend was trying to let me connect to him but he didn't have access to his router. tried on my connection but my dsl sucks
We are playing via LAN on a daily basis no ports forwarded. One bug so far is having to Select the favourited game name then click refresh and then click START to join sometimes it can be hit and miss but once were in its all good.
Hopefully future will see join lan button and AUTOMATED server setup button added?
When you say host a single player game, does this mean start a new game and choose SP (Single-player) Survival? There’s no option for privacy settings, so I would guess that I’m supposed to select MP (Multi-player) Survival instead.
When you say your friends are supposed to choose the Multiplayer options, does this mean click on the Connect to Server option on the main menu? I’m guessing it’s that, but because there’s a MP option in game creation, there could be some confusion.
I really do appreciate you taking the time to post, so please don’t take my comments as being snarky … just trying to clarify :-)
