But, this kind of also have destroyed the meaning of this game. Its suppose to be "Survival of the Fittest" not the Most Friendly achievement get. I do agree that servers should have the right to be able to choose whether player buildings are allowed to be invaded or not. Since this is still a early access, you'll just have to probably wait for a year until this game is fully developed and maybe moddable with the steam workshop :D
All games online will always have griefers. World is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no-lifers who have an urge to ruin other peoples gaming experience to compensate for their own personal shortcommings.
Want to avoid griefers then play with friends or go hardcore with ban option.
- add admin functions for server owner.
Keep the muppets like SirLootalot out of your games - let them go off and mutually masturbate with other griefers.
1. No limitations, fully open server/world where you can destroy or steal other people's items, or kill them.
2. No PvP, but option to destroy and steal still in place.
3. Minecraft style protection.
4. Play on friend / invite only server
This way, everyone can play the way they prefer depending on which server rules are active.
Wanna grief, join option 1 or 2 servers.
Want co-op and no griefers, go with option 3 or 4.
Problem solved.
I like the combination of building, crafting and fighting zombies.
So why should I go play another game when this game offers just that?
Game offers that too.
Again, give options in terms of server rulesets and everyone is happy.
A lot of us prefer to play dedicated FPS games for that type of experience, such as battlefield, planetside and similar.
In this game what is interest, for me at least (and many others, including friends) is to work together as a team. We build a base together, defend it against zombies, scavenge for supplies and survive together.
If I want to defend a base against other players, I will play Capture the Flag in Tribes or something like that.
Just because you want this game to have options to grief, fight other players and whatmore doesn't mean me or my friends do.
We want a grief free gaming experience in this game, so we prefer server rulesets that accomodate for this playstyle. For you it's about fighting other players, so you want a server ruleset to accomodate for that.
We want different things from same game, so game needs to give us options to do both things.
