Just - 12 from the time once it gets to 1300
24 hour time is more accurate than 12 hour cycle time. If you say lets meet at 04:00 you know its four in the morning. So when its 22:00 you know its 10 at night.
Some people do actually have difficulties in reading time this way and it is perfectly understandable for you and many, many others to dislike it.
But over time you will get used to it. : )
Maybe this will help:
1:00 AM equals 01:00
2:00 AM equals 02:00
3:00 AM equals 03:00
4:00 AM equals 04:00
5:00 AM equals 05:00
6:00 AM equals 06:00
7:00 AM equals 07:00
8:00 AM equals 08:00
9:00 AM equals 09:00
10:00 AM equals 10:00
11:00 AM equals 11:00
12:00 PM equals 12:00
1:00 PM equals 13:00
2:00 PM equals 14:00
3:00 PM equals 15:00
4:00 PM equals 16:00
5:00 PM equals 17:00
6:00 PM equals 18:00
7:00 PM equals 19:00
8:00 PM equals 20:00
9:00 PM equals 21:00
10:00 PM equals 22:00
11:00 PM equals 23:00
12:00 AM equals 00:00
And the OP didn't say they didn't know what time it was or how to add 12 to PM times, just that it's not how they usually see time.
In the US, the standard is am/pm. As is miles instead of km, and a different date format standard, not to mention our temperature scale. Knowing how to convert it isn't the issue.
Military uses it EVERYWHERE, because there is no need to question am or pm.
I do not use 24hr clocks in my life, but I like the use of them in games like this.
I understand if its not your flavor, but I don't see how: "It will affect my gameplay" though. :/
So at that point it's just a flavor, and they are still working out what flavor vanillia will be lol
Hence why I also put but you chose to ignore
"unless the OP is over 60 I suspect the OP is conversant with the format but is making a choice to ignore its existance"
In the UK the standard is AM/PM but all children are taught 24HOUR format as a standard, I didnt say other countries didnt, I stated I didnt know if it was differant :)
Suppose it would not take two much for them to add AM/PM
That being said I really couldn't care less which they use, especially at this point in the game. The clock works and that's all that matters. If they added it as an option towards the end of developement I'd be fine with that though.
