Renewable food source?
I am having trouble finding renewable food sources. I tried farming, but it seems like it takes so long, there has to be an easier way besides running around finding animals to kill.

Potatoes, corn, blueberries, and goldenrod (for drinks). Yes, it does take a while. Which actually isn't even that long, once you get a proper farm going. What do you expect? And you still need to hunt animals to make your dinnerplate more nutritious.

if your growing corn, wait till it grows till its max heigh, which is 3 voxels, and only harvest the top, you get 5 corn for each crown

I made a farm consisting of 6 rows, 16 blocks in length. Planted corn on two rows, potatoes on one, coffee on another, blueberries and goldenrod on the last two. I'm feeding me and a buddy on that with the occasional meat added in. Just make venison/rabbit stews and blueberry pies. Goldenrod tea takes care of any thirst. It only takes like two or three in game days to grow, twice as much for corn. After awhile you end up with too much of certain crops that you can adjust how much you plant after awhile.

there's always something to find to eat:

desert biome : hit cactus and eat fruit

woodland biome : hunting & looting

grass biome: corn and blue berries

wasteland & burned forest: ruins of houses to loot, honey from wasps

Just like in real life there's no easy way to get a steady suply of easy food just anywhere you are, not unless you farm crops or domesticate animals.
What i would like to see introduced:

-fruit tree's
-fishing
-farming and breeding animals

Ya I would +1 to Fruit trees, Fishing and Husbranry. Although I would like to see more types of wild animals. Maybe wild chickens or other birds, a goat, maybe a living dog that hasn't been infected that you can befriend with dog food or fresh meat.

Blueberries don't grow in grass biome, corn does though...blueberries are in snow biome. As for food, never boil an egg, its a waste of precious water if you're so unestablished that you are dying for food. Pigs are in EASY supply nowadays...mix 1 pork, 2 eggs over a fire with a grill on it (made with pipes) and you have the best home made travel food that will boost your wellness. Bacon and Eggs. Its the only made food with no odor I've found thus far. Making it great for traveling with. When you are established enough to settle down with a farm that can pull in a full stack of corn and potatoes in one harvest you will never worry about food. Why? Corn, Potato, Water over a fire with a pot equals veggie stew which increasts health hydration and hunger! Throw in some venison and you got stew +1 for awesometimes. Like it or not if you intend to settle and stake a claim in 7dtd you better get used to farming unless you enjoy being a scavenger living hand to mouth...make a large farm...spend the time...best food for traveling is bacon and eggs and goldenrod tea...with a little coffee for long distance hauls. Best foods for base living and home improvement? Veggie stew or venison stew...never carry this food on your person though.

Also when in doubt if you're scrounging...never cook food with a pot it always wastes precious water...a grill is best for cooking meats for a quick pick me up. Never waste water if you arent at a stage where mass producing jars is as easy as digging up some sand for you.

I have make a small test with the garden to plnt thing to test the bug some people say they have, like the plant they explode, but it's not a bug, it's just because when you use the hoe, it's destroy all the thing around...,

so, before planting thing, the people need to make her row before and planting after, and if they want to add other row after they need to let's one row clear beside the one they have plant in it, else they will be destroyed..

for now i just test potato, blueberry, and goldenrod, i have just finished to plant thing for the test, now i need to wait, but like people say, it's can take 2 or 3 day, other people say 5 game day, but anyway my test will be long because i play at 240 minute by day and it's take me one week to play a day, so, i think i will be able to have the first recolt in one real mont ha ha ha, but i love it like this, it's make more real,

the only thing i don't love at 240 minutes by day for now in all my test, it's in each 30 minute you are dying because you need to eat, it's very very far aways of the reality, i can pass a day without thinking to eat in the real life, but my avatar are dying in each 30 minutes ha ha ha

but the way for farming have evolved big, now it's funny to try to make growing thing, we don't work for nothing, they have make the best move in changing the exploding plant for taking more long time to grow...

yes, i find it too, cooking with water it's make you lost precious glass jar, i don't understand why they don't change it and give you the glass jar back like for the other thing, me ine the real life, i don't put glasses into my cooked egg to give her some taste ha ha ha
