Hold down the "Shift+w" keys for sprint but that only lasts till stamina bar is empty, other than that our current speed (crouching and non crouching) is walking.

yes... sometimes the game feels like a "running simulator" lol..

Won't be a problem for much longer, when we receive vehicles.

Force a small child or relative to hold down the shift key.

yep, except seems everyone wants a different vehicle than they plan to deliver ! lol ! mini-bike? wtf? there are already cars in the game.. seems like way out of left-field.

Nah, no drivable vehicles of any type are in yet. Cars are just derelicts - down the road they plan on adding all kinds of vehicles.

But the question is, will vehicles have an auto-forward option or are we stuck holding w as well?

Don't know. I do know the devs don't want the game to be easy or a cakewalk. Whether or not they consider auto-run part of that is anyone's guess. It may eventually have an effect on our skill tree (like Stamina, or some other wilderness skill) so they may choose to leave it out. We'll have to wait and see.

There's a diff between cake-walk & cramped fingers. I def don't like it when I have to hold down a button just to do basic functions in game.

I played 4 hours last night with friends - the whole session was focused on running down the roads from town to town to forage. That's 3ish hours of just holding my middle finger & pinky down to run. Not fun.

When the Apocolypse Knights expansion comes out you can craft a saddle out of leather and ride your great-antlered stag into a horde of zombies while wielding your crafted iron-tipped lance. Then you just have to point your mount in the direction and click shift every 5 seconds or so to 'spur' it into running speed.

Iron-tipped lances do bonus damage based on your current speed.

Also, this is completely made up.

Make it a Tungsten lance & you've got my vote.

But seriously, makes me wonder if they would bring in horses eventually. We came across a barn the other day with not one horse, nor corpse (though I didn't expect one). Makes me wonder where they went. Zombies can't chase them, maybe humans rode them away, or ate them. Probably why we keep finding so much cat food..

Haha! Or insert something on side of the W button.
