Suggestion: Emergency Beacon
I was happy that an idea I shared, somewhere, got accepted. Smoke flare being pulled by the static line attached to the chute is proper military practice... glad to see it in game. However in the context of the game/environment how does the military know where I am to even try to drop anywhere near me?

That is part of the idea that I hope gets taken up.

Each player may have one, and only one, emergency beacon active. If it is not deployed, no planes - at all. Deploy and the military knows that there is a worthwhile bit of moving flesh kind of there. As an added feature: Players can stack beacons on top of each other. Thus making the beacon stronger decreasing time frames for flights.

I'm sure that the idea will be chewed upon and improved without me muddying the water with my blathering on and on.

I like that Idea. Perhaps throwing a flare of our own and having the plane drop the goods within a radius of the flare. I just imagine they drop it knowing there are survivors in that zone and hope they see the supplies drop.

the building with the rooftop garden, surrounded by log spikes and a giant wall, might be a good area to drop :) don't need a flare to see that from the air.. but nooo it drops a million miles away.
