Can't build Sniper Rifle

So I finally got all the parts to build a sniper rifle.
and when I put a part into the craft menu it says I can build scrap Iron and if I put all the sniper components in the right place it will still say scrap Iron......................
SO I WENT TO BUILD IT AND IT GAVE ME 16 SCR$AP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IRON!!!!!!!
I have several 64 stacks of scrap Iron in my storage chests I am crying help me

Yes just like the pictures show in the crafting menu :c
Luckily I made ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Molds for it all though. I still can't build them and this is sucking me dry of resources

Had the same thing happen to me on the pistol, then I noticed that the crafting for the pistol wasnt green. Later I found a recipe book for pistols, read it and now able to make a pistol without turning it into scrap iron. Maybe there a book for sniper rifle?

Glad to hear you made molds of the parts. Thankfully the sniper rifle scraps down to roughly the amount it costs in iron to make. Just put the scrap iron back into the forges with the molds and you will have lost very little.
Strange that it isn't allowing you to make the gun. Afaik this is not a gated recipe; however saying that I can't imagine a game that I've played where I would have found all the parts before reading all the basic books.
Would be very interested to know if you solve this by reading a book.
Lastly: Always watch the output icon and text when crafting

I know I've read the book for it or what ever because it's apart of my crafting list for weapons!
I'm going to validate the game because this very well could be just a corrupt file or something unusual.

I have a friend that cannot make a stone axe.

There is definitely a bug with the recipes/crafting..... since we can't seem to pin down a repeatable cause, I doubt it will ever get fixed :(

Try re-reading your skill books (so keep some spares just in case). I read a post awhile back about a possible bug that causes memory loss, even though, his character showed a green entry for forge making in the list he couldn't make it, then he re-read the book and it worked.

Lucky you, i have searched my world up and down and I can't find a Sniper hand guard, I hope it drops off a zombie because it is not in any house, garage, fort, vault, chest, gun safe, trashcan or medicine cabinet lol I am running out of places to look except a lucky drop.

If you are sure you've unlocked the rifle, and you aren't playing on a MP server where they have messed with the recipes, then I'd suggest a completely clean reinstall of your game. Doesn't take as long as it looks:

• Uninstall the game through Steam, then close Steam
  
• Find the 7DTD install folder "\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\7 Days to Die" and delete it.
  
• Edit the registry with regedit, find the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die" key and remove it entirely.
  
• Run a tool like CCleaner to get rid of temp files, DNS entries, etc.
  
• Find "ClientRegistry.blob" in Steam's folder (\Program Files (x86)\Steam), rename it to "ClientRegistry.blob.old"
  
• Restart the computer
  
• Start Steam and reinstall the game

I've found handguards for the Sniper Rifle in Ammunition Crates and just Box crates!
Mostly in destroyed cities.
