Not to be snide, but I've also had a Chinese hacker floating right in front of me telling me how he was a legitimate gamer. You may be innocent, however on my server 92% of the IP's I've banned by first-hand account have been Chineese -- and the kicker is, of all the Chineese IP's accessing our server 100% have been banned. Since this revelation two weeks ago, we now ban all Chineese players as soon as they join.

The question really is though, and I'm sorry if I'm speaking out of line -- but why in the hell would you want to play a FPS on a server with 300ms+ ping? Why not find a Chineese server or rent a Chineese server?

Every hacker I have ever seen in 7DTD has had Chinese characters as their username, and every person I have ever seen with Chinese characters as their username, was a hacker.
Sorry, but we aren't the ones making them hack and harass everyone... I mean, everyone I know knows HOW to hack 7DTD, it's not hard at all, so it's not like they are the only ones who know how, for some reason, Chinese people just think it's funny to hack this game and harass Americans/Canadians (Most of this games fanbase is from north america right?)
So because of that, there is a stigma to ban Chinese people the second anyone sees them.

I think they could resolve the issue by restricting users to only be able to join servers in their own country. It may not be fair, but the online mode being totally unplayable because of Chinese hackers is not fair to everyone else in the world. And there is really no reason to be joining servers in other countries anyways... The lag would be so bad, you couldn't play WITHOUT cheating.

I meant more 'region' then 'country', if you live in a very small country, then it should logicaly include other near by countries. Sorry for not explaining every aspect of my simple idea in excursion business-like fine print detail to include all the tiny little bitty countries that likely only have a few dozen to hundred 7DTD players anyways?

and if you are in asia, then you would be restricted to asia, why should the game care where you lived before? o_O

i stand by what i said. There is really no logical reason why people from europe/asia should be trying to connect to north american servers.

Hacking and cheating aside, you'd get auto kicked for having a high ping and the game would lag big time anyway, setup your own server and play against your friends.

I live in Asia, and play on American servers. My ping is between 180 - 212. The game doesn't lag for me at all. That said, if Chinese players are clocking over 300 ping I would suggest that is due to the communist regime's spying on everything its citizens do.

In all fairness, not all Chinese players have Chinese characters for names. I had one no-clipping killing players with a sniper on his belt, and an auger and chainsaw and 3 full stacks of 762 ammo with no considerable time logged on my server. His username was qweppkl. :)

Most of the cheaters I have had to kick had US IP's. A simple fact remains password the server and kick when the ping is way too high.
