Even with drink buffs you can't really barrel across the world without eventually getting "embarrassing zombie build up" on your heels trying to dine on your brain.
3rd PV was pulled a few versions ago because of wall clipping and camera scouting around walls in MP/PVP and it may never return.
(which kinda doesn't make sense since everyone could do it, at least from what i understand)
You 3rd point is tied to your 2nd which is moot.
I'm a 1st person kinda guy so i've never tried 3rd PV in this game.
The only time i'll use 3rd person is in an MMO where i really don't have a choice.
Having plenty of Options is never a bad thing though so i get where you're going with this.
I'd probably find a use for Autorun if we had it.
-i want secure chests with endless inventory space that i can pick up and move as a 1-slot-item
but you probably keep walking all the time! I actually meant auto-move. In this game it would include auto-walk, auto-crawl, and auto-run.
Lol, you need time lord tech, a chest that's bigger on the inside...
Pack rat to the extreme... all you need in this game is a sledge hammer, pickaxe, axe, shotgun, shotgun ammo, pills, antibiotics, a stack of water, a few cans of food.... Done! you can survive indefinitely..... oh and coffee is good.
Autorun would be nice, some distances I had to travel were nuts!
I have a question about inventory management. Say I want to move all my stuff into a chest. How do I do that without draging every single item over? Shift-click doesn't work as expected, I'd wish when interacting with a container that shift-click would move the item between container and backpack. When opening standard inventory shift-click for moving things to the belt is fine.
Any suggestions?
Embarrassing Zombie Buildup happens when you play with zombies always running.
(or at night)
Then you plow into a new region, get insta-zombie pop ups, you get stunned and the rest gets too ugly to describe.
Like i said before, auto-run (or move) would be nice.
3PV not so much.
Even *with* a 3rd-person POV I find having a where the camera looks being different from the character's facing really annoying - its one of the hallmarks of a game developed by people steeped in console game development culture (twin-stick gamepad) and not PC development culture (M/KB).
Right now you can look around simply by moving the mouse (mouselook) which has the added advantage that if there's something ravenous right behind you, you are already facing it and can react faster.
Ever played Dayz or Arma? It can be useful to be able to look behind you while maintaining maximum sprint speed. Also I think its a nice touch to add to the immersion in certain situations. Not a "super important basic feature" imho though.
....Unlike improved inventory/container handling ;). Still hoping for a quicker way to move a lot of stuff into a chest quickly. Other aspects of the game are streamlined so nicely, I'm hoping this will be further improved too. Maybe look at minecraft tekkit. They also have integrated functions to sort chest content automatically.
And I try not to run too much for too long. I HATE it when I run a good distance but everything is taking its time to appear in the game. The next thing I know a zombie pops up right infront of me. Nearly gives me a heart attack everytime. This is the only game that can honestly scare me to the point I have to turn on the lights in my room. After a few good shocks to my system, I don't run much anymore.
