i wish to see more party games- game that last only a few hours with waves of zombies so if your not into long games and can pick up the game and have some fun
I like another post that mentioned "crazy" land generation sliders, but I would prefer genuine mountain range biomes. Another from the same poster (jrich360) mentioning O2 levels at extreme heights or depths. Also possible poisonous gas or explosive gas "pockets" at depths. Perhaps these sort of places could be used to gate certain types of ores or loot.
Imagine digging through some rock and instead of the clear space, a green cloud of gas was revealed. You would know that perhaps somewhere near could be Tungsten, but without that gas mask, you'll never reach it.
Or knowing that the best sniper parts, or Flawless military helmets would be in some sniper's nest/army base high in a mountain, but without personal oxygen, you'll never reach it.
Perhaps could start introducing unexpected "planetary effects" due to the post-nuclear war / zompocalypse scenario. Massive electrical discharges perhaps. Wooden bases with iron reinforcements might be struck by lightning and catch fire, requiring major stone covering before the lightnin' comes. Perhaps players could make iron "lightning rod" towers, which would alleviate that, but maybe the top block could be vaporized during such a storm, scattering some metal scraps.
Lightning hitting iron spike defences could arc between each other, and possibly to other metal objects, including a player kitted in iron armour. The arcing could also "supercharge" the defence spikes, but add greatly to the heat map for a while.
I'd think all those tower defenders would get a kick out of zombies frying on a dark night with arcing all around, but everyone stripped back to leather so they don't get arced themselves.
If mechanics / generators come in, perhaps an air compressor and fire extinguisher could help against fires. Fill extinguisher with water and pressurize with air compressor. Or gas mask + air-pressurized fire extinguisher = personal O2 supply (for a limited time). Similar game mechanics to fuel and power tools maybe.
Tungsten? What use does that have? ;)
Anyway, great post! I know what you mean too about the town spawns. There's one that I live right across from that has a pharmacy, two grocery stores, a gun shop and tool shop and one in the next biome over and right by the edge too with a tool shop, gun shop, and pharmacy and a town in the biome south of me with a huge tool shop. I don't have to go to wasteland for good supplies and I'm alone where I have built so I get all ore from the caves to myself.
I've yet to experience a feral horde though.
Late-game harrder zombies might be a nice implementation. Like tunnelers/diggers. Or if they are going to implement NPC's (in the distant future), a roaming band of marauders with some left-over RPG's might pose a challenge to a 'zombie-proof' base.
Another idea would be zombies that specialize in late game base destruction, metal eaters or somesuch. That way they don't give new guys too hard a go but once you're up they can test you. I'd like a reason for turrets and waves of destruction and defense.
also true factions / clans would be nice so a group of players could make a long term commitment and have their own sub chat to co - ordinate in game - sure we can get mumble team speak and the like but sometimes chat just works easier
Tropical
Arctic
Ocean and Seaports, Harbors with ships.
Mountains
Volcanic ( Molten lava lakes and rivers.)
Dunes
Salt Flats
Radioactive
Poison
Acidic
Diseased
Large cities like New York with big skyscrappers
Heavy rainforest.
Weapons I like to see added.
Longsword
Minigun
Heavy assault rifles and heavy machine guns.
Granade launcher
Excellent idea.
I like the idea of a radioactive or poisonous (both!?) biome.
In order to enter it without geting a perma-glow tan you need to craft or loot a mask and a suit.
Maybe you also need to craft or find anti-radiation meds.
Best place to find all of this stuff would be wasteland cities.
