Just started a new game in Navezgane ... so far no problems looting animals. Might be a problem with continuing save games, or in random gen worlds. I'll try a random gen world in about an hour, get back to you.

I have looted a pig with no issues. Although the pig was stuck twirling around a stick bush.

By the way, occasionally they will provide no loot, it's down around about 5-10 % from my experience.

I had this in 11.2 - fixed by rerver restart
Between the runs-forever-and-ever chase to kill them and getting no loot three times in a row, I've given up hunting entirely. I found it to be too much of a pain.

Corn, potatoes, with the occaisional can of chili keep me going.

i've had a number of boneless animals lately but not empty loot boxes.
If you shoot an animal from stealth, and then let it run a bit. Often it will only run a certain range, now if you then remain far out but close in to a makeable shot, at good range, it often will take the shot and having not detected you allow you to shoot multiple times at range. It won't move.

So, I suppose, the key is to shoot from stealth at a decent range, then close in only to a long range shot while stealthed, and keep firing.

The animals seem to run only so far. Once you figure out what that range is, you can pummel them at will without them moving even though they should.

This might be something they should fix. But at the moment, it's a benefit to us.
Having animal looting problems as well. Though, when continuing a game, they seem to drop for a while and then randomly I'll go to loot one and all it will do is pop the command console up. At times Deer will drop while Rabbits will not, or vice-versa.

Leads me to believe that the way it dies has something to do with it. Hopefully its a bug that will be fixed sooner than later yeah.
this is a bug that has been going on for a while, the only known work around is to take EVERYTHING out of an animal every time you kill one and the next animal will work as normal, just remember to take EVERYTHING before closing the loot window or else the next one will glitch out and give no loot.
Hit the loot all button or R key (same thing). Even if the items don't actually fit in your inventory it will prevent the next animal from having this bug.
As said in the above posts, simply remove ALL items dropped from your first kill. Leaving things behind causes the next one to drop nothing. Even if you don't want the bones etc, take them. Crop them even, but clear the inventory else that'll be the last bit of meat you get until you restart the game.

there was no loot on the first pig of the new game
No loot, or console bug-out?

I've never had an animal drop no loot, except by popping up a console error first. My fault for not wanting all the fat and bones :) I'm an opportunist hunter anyway - I scavenge from the animals that drop dead at the sight of me.
So the solution is to loot all ? I have a better idea....FIX THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME....it's looking like a very amateurish production atm.
i had the same problem, but now its away...idk why
