Teleporting to friends
Hi.I have only played this game for 2-3 hours. It looks very very fun.But the problem is that if you spawn too far from a friend or die,you will need to walk the half of the world to them.So i think they should add an ability to teleport to friends. However, they should add a bar or something to make it balanced.Or the negative reviews will grow more and less people will buy the game. Its because i dont want to get bored in an awesome game like this.Feddback please.

you only spawn far away from your last position if you didnt placed a bed or sleeping bag when you finaly found you friends base.
So find a bed or craft one and place it. you will see a icon on the minimap for that.

But the first time you have to walk to your friend.
Yea maybe they can add a teleportation just for once in a world.

problem with that is there are too many trolls that would take advantage of it
Yeah thats bad

There is a mod you can add for that.

The unfortunate reality.

If one of you is hosting, then it's really quite easy. Whoever is the host, add the other as a friend, then track them. Look in the direction their green arrow is, then use that to help you find them on the map. When you've found them, right click to place a waypoint. Then exit the map, press the console key (the button to the left of 1 on your keyboard), type "dm", press enter, and then you will be able to ctrl + right click anywhere on the map to teleport there. My friend and I do it all the time when we start a new game.

Obviously don't abuse it though, that takes the fun out of things!

Perfect, thank you. Totally for the idea of a 'meetup' for friends mod.

Launchpad, I don't see how a meet-up teleport could be abused by trolls considering you could set it only for those who accept friendship.

You'd have to limit it somehow to just once...because if I am out looting, it gets late, and I can just TP back to my buddy, you take the fear and consequence out of a lot of the game.

I don't know how I feel about it. I think the vehicles they are planning on would be enough. The thrill of getting to your friends has always been a joy to me and the friends I play with. If TP is something they implement, I only request that it's an option like enable/disable cheats are right now.

Easy, restrict it to a level one. The 1's can teleport to a higher level character AFTER both have accepted the friendship invite.

That works for me. You could probably even do level 5, as default xml has 5 hours of safe zone for those 5 and less.

because trolls would never try to get a vet to help them out on a pve server only to get the friend ship request and then BOOM Headshot there goes all your flawless...
right now 'Friends' already adds way to much power to somone you just want to show up on your mini map or vice versa. There are mods out there allow you to create static and dynamic telports. The server i play on has a static to hub (0,0) which works great as a way for people to meet up. But the random respawn isnt bad, wait until you are out 15k from 0,0 and you get mauled by a surprise pack of dogs and a feral horde and trip and fall into a cave/sinkhole and have to go back on that backpack run.

I think you have confused the word 'friend' with 'stranger'. If I was silly enough to be tricked into accepting a friend invite & not take precautions just in case...well then maybe I deserved the troll.

Nice that there are mods though, and the 0,0 is great if we can set it ourselves. I'd hate for that point to be in the middle of the city, or wasteland.
