i thought it was a new thing has i had never experienced it until now and scared the life out of me. that is going to be something else too keep a eye on now has i usually use the cars has a means of keeping zombies at bay whilst i pick them off 1 by 1 with a bow.
thank you Na shagul for confirming it is already in the game :)
that could be why i haven`t noticed it before has i started playing from late alpha 7 and always start a new game when i die, so i wouldn`t have read up on all of the updates only from when i purchased onwards :)
that is something i wish they would change so that items respawn same has other lootables, but if it`s because they will make them drivable then it makes sense why they are only lootable once :)
It will catch on fire first before it goes. Also it will look ever more beat to hell.
awesome i was wondering if it was a case of it just explodes after a certain amount of hits or there was visible signs of damage to show it is on verge of exploding.
so thank you Roughtymes for that info has well :)
Hi Guy's
Also as Roughtymes has said,
The cars before exploding go through a couple of stages of damage.
They go from looking pristine to taking on damage all the way through to actually looking like wrecks, " Windows Broke - Doors Missing - Mangled Metal ETC. ETC. ".
But before they blow they do actually flame up first.
Not a good idea to be at the side of when they do go boom,
learned this the hard way back in ALPHA 7 - 8 i think it was.
I was trying to keep the car between me and the Zed's when all of a sudden the car started to flame up, i thought nothing of it and carried on blasting the Zed's and hitting the car.
Suffice to say that i learned my lesson that day ;-]
Cheers

P.S.
One last thing though,
The cars can also be used as a quick makeshift car bomb on the Zed's.
Plus if there is enough Zed's around it at the time,
it can make for some funny moments watching the Zed's get blown away too ;-]...
that was the strategy i tend to use so when i heard the car exploding my first thought was that the zeds destroyed the barrels at the petrol station.
so at 1st light i took a quick glance around from ontop of the building i was stationed at and couldn`t see any clear damage, but when i left the building i see a huge hole where the car was, never seeing this happen before i was totally puzzled has to why the loot car had exploded.
in some way i should have guessed that it was possible being that there would still be gas in the car, but thought that at the worse scenario the car would slowly despawn like when collecting metal from the wrecked cars.
i do like the idea of using them has a makeshift car bomb has at this moment once they are looted there is no immediate other use for them. going to use this tactic from now on when zeds get over excited :)
thank you mark117h for sharing this info and a new insight on how to use lootable cars in tricky situations it`s much appreciated :)
rofl i know what you mean had that happen a quite a few times, once i accidently shot a barrel instead of picking it up, lesson learned don`t hold a weapon whilst near flammables :)
